MnSCU StarID Account - Activation needed by November 30th

At this time the Office of the Chancellor needs to have all MnSCU employees activate their StarID account by November 30, 2010.  Failure to create your StarID account will cause service issues for you logging in to MnSCU online services starting January 1, 2011. This will include eTimesheet.

How to Activate your StarID Account

To activate your StarID account, please go to the StarID web page at http://starid.mnscu.edu/  Then select the link to Activate StarID and follow the directions there.

You should receive your StarID account information within a few hours. Please retain your account information in a secure and private place.

What is StarID and what will it do for you.

The Office of the Chancellor has been working on a single user ID system (StarID) for all MnSCU employees for some time now. The StarID is a username and password that will be used across the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to access information technology systems and services. As systems are configured to use StarID, the number of usernames and passwords students and employees will need to remember and use will be reduced. Ideally, at sometime in the future all systems will be able to use StarID so individuals will have a single username and password.

You will need a StarID account to access MnSCU applications such as eTimesheet, HR applications, Tuition Waiver, eTranscript, Accounting, Security Administration, Housing Administration, Budget, Tuition Waiver Administration, Curriculum Management, Student Direct Deposit, Communications, and VETS Administration.

Deadline

Please have your account created by November 30, 2010. It may take a while to create and get your account to you. Doing this on the last day will cause service issues.

If you have any questions please contact the HR Office for more information.
