| The new 2007 "Ribbon" takes up a lot of space at the top of your document. Want your workspace back? Just double click on the active tab. The names of the tabs remain, but the ribbon goes away. Want the ribbon back again? just double click on the name of the tab. |

| Do you like to use shortcut keys? All the same shortcuts that you used in Office 2003 will still work in 2007. Here is something else you could play with - in Word, press the "alt" key. you will see little icons with letters in them appear on the ribbon near the tabs. press the corresponding letter and it will jump to that tab. then there will be letters on the ribbon near the different command icons. You may never have to click again! ok, maybe you will, but it's fun to play with. |

| Are you tired of using multiple mouse clicks to get to the commands you use often? Add commonly used icons to your "quick-access" toolbar. This small toolbar is always on top, and is in the upper left of the application window (just to the right of the office button) By default, this toolbar has the "save" and "undo" buttons. At the end of the toolbar is a drop down arrow that will give you a list of commands to choose from. I have added the print and print preview buttons to mine. |

I recently discovered this nifty reference. Microsoft has developed several visual, interactive reference guides to help you quickly learn where things are. It compares 2003 with 2007. You can access it online or download the interactive guides to your computer. Check it out at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/HA102295841033.aspx You might try it with the application you use most often --- from an Office 2003 screen display you simply click on the button or menu option you can no longer find in Office 2007 --- then the screen shows you where it is in Office 2007! So far it looks like Outlook, Word, Excel, adn Powerpoint are there...I haven't noticed one for Access. |
